Ep 9. Enos in Trouble

Enos in Trouble is the ninth episode of the fifth season of the iconic TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. Set in rural Georgia, the show follows the Duke family who run a garage and a moonshining operation, while trying to thwart the corrupt Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane and his boss, Boss Hogg, who are always scheming to take their land.

In this episode, the show's popular character Enos Strate (played by Sonny Shroyer), the dependable deputy of Sheriff Rosco, gets into trouble when he accidentally stumbles upon a smuggling ring at the port and tries to investigate it without informing his boss. The smuggling ring is headed by two dangerous criminals, Blackjack and Gino, who smuggle illegal goods and drugs into the country using their cargo ships.

Enos is seen taking pictures of the criminals loading the contraband onto their ship while hiding in the bushes. However, he is spotted by one of the gang members, who raises an alarm and chases after him. Enos makes a run for it and is chased down by the thug, but manages to knock him out with a swift punch.

Enos brings the unconscious thug to the sheriff's office and shows him the pictures he had taken. However, to his surprise, Sheriff Rosco refuses to take any action against the smugglers, claiming that they are too powerful and that he doesn't want to get involved. Enos is frustrated with Rosco's lack of action and decides to take matters into his own hands, hoping to find more evidence against the smugglers.

Enos gets in touch with the Dukes to seek their help in exposing the smuggling ring and bringing the criminals to justice. The Dukes agree to help and start investigating the matter, coming across more clues that lead them deeper into the shadowy world of smuggling.

Meanwhile, Enos is kidnapped by the criminals who discover that he is investigating them. They take him to their hideout and interrogate him, hoping to get him to reveal what he knows. Enos refuses to talk and is beaten up by the thugs, who then abandon him in the woods.

The Dukes eventually find Enos and bring him to the hospital for treatment. They then hatch a plan to expose the smuggling ring, which involves a high-speed car chase, daring stunts, and plenty of action. With the help of Enos, they bring Blackjack and Gino to justice, and Sheriff Rosco is finally forced to take action against them.

The episode ends on a heartwarming note where Sheriff Rosco and Enos reconcile, with Rosco acknowledging Enos's bravery and determination. This episode is a classic example of the show's trademark mix of action, humor, and heart, and is a must-watch for fans of the series.
