The episode kicks off with Bobby and Sophie heading to the popular restaurant Sweet Chick in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where they meet up with owner and chef John Seymour. Sweet Chick is known for its classic Southern-style fried chicken and waffles, which Bobby and Sophie get to sample.

After enjoying the Sweet Chick chicken, Bobby and Sophie head to one of Bobby's personal favorite fried chicken spots, Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken in the East Village. Bobby has been a fan of Blue Ribbon's signature dish, the "Blue Ribbon fried chicken," for years and can't wait to share it with his daughter. During their visit, they learn about the history of Blue Ribbon and how they make their famous fried chicken.

Next up, Bobby and Sophie visit Brooklyn-based restaurant The Commodore, which is known for its spicy fried chicken sandwich. They meet with chef Stephen Tanner, who shares his secret recipe for the mouth-watering sandwich, and Bobby and Sophie get to try it for themselves.

The father-daughter duo then head to Crown Fried Chicken in Brooklyn to try out the chain's classic fried chicken and learn about its history in the community. They meet with franchise owner Ali Ahmed and get a behind-the-scenes look at how Crown Fried Chicken makes its chicken so crispy.

Finally, Bobby and Sophie make their way to Harlem to try the famous fried chicken at Sylvia's Restaurant, which has been serving up Southern comfort food since 1962. They meet with Sylvia's grandson and current owner, Tren'ness Woods-Black, who shares how the restaurant has been a fixture in the Harlem community for decades. Bobby and Sophie feast on Sylvia's classic fried chicken and sides like mac and cheese and collard greens.

Throughout the episode, Bobby and Sophie discuss the history and cultural significance of fried chicken in America and note how each restaurant they visit puts its own unique spin on the classic dish.
