Ep 13. The Picnic

The Flintstones season 2 episode 13, titled "The Picnic," follows the everyday adventures of the Stone Age family. In this episode, the Flintstones and their neighbors organize a picnic. Fred is particularly excited about the picnic, as he believes it is a great opportunity to flaunt his grilling skills. He spends the entire day before the picnic preparing for it.

However, things start going wrong on the day of the picnic. First, the Flintstones and the Rubbles, who are joining them on the picnic, can't decide on which route to take to the picnic spot. Then, they get stuck in a traffic jam caused by a herd of dinosaurs crossing their path. When they finally reach the picnic spot, Fred realizes that he has forgotten to pack the barbecue sauce. He tries to hide the mistake from Wilma, but she eventually finds out.

During the picnic, there are various other mishaps. The food gets burnt, causing everyone to complain, and the ice cream melts, leaving them with a soupy mess. To make matters worse, the local wildlife, including a bear and a butterfly, keep disrupting the picnic.

Despite all the mishaps, the families try to make the best of their time together. They play games, go for a walk, and even dance a little. The highlight of the picnic is when the Rubbles present a gift to the Flintstones - a picnic basket made out of stone. The basket is adorned with various fruits and flowers, making it a work of art.

The Flintstones and the Rubbles finally decide to head back home, exhausted from the eventful day. As they drive home, they realize that they had a great time despite all the mishaps. They agree that they should plan more outings in the future and enjoy each other's company.

In this episode, viewers get a glimpse of the Stone Age world and the daily lives of the Flintstones. Through it all, the importance of family, friendship, and making the most of every situation shines through.
