However, the plan hits a snag when Barney's next-door neighbor, Mrs. Slaghoople, gets wind of the scheme and begins a competition with the Rubbles to see who can sell the most produce. The competition becomes fierce, with both sides resorting to dirty tactics to gain the upper hand.

Meanwhile, Barney continues to struggle financially and begins to feel guilty about accepting money from his friend. Determined to make things right, he consults with his uncle and asks for his help in finding a job. Vanderbilstone agrees to help, but on the condition that Barney accept his offer and work for him at his company. Barney finally relents, and Vanderbilstone helps him land a job as a mailroom clerk.

In the end, the Rubbles and Mrs. Slaghoople both achieve success with their produce-selling ventures, and Barney finds success in his new job. The episode ends with a heartwarming scene of the friends sitting together, eating the fruits of their labor, and feeling grateful for the support and love they have for each other.
