Ep 22. Blood Brothers

In the season 1 finale of The Mentalist, titled "Blood Brothers," Patrick Jane and the CBI team investigate a string of murders that appear to be linked to a prison gang. The episode begins with the murder of a young woman outside of a convenience store. When the team arrives on the scene, they discover that the victim's boyfriend is a member of a prison gang known as the Nuestra Familia.

Jane realizes that the gang is involved in the murders and offers to go undercover in the prison to gather information. He convinces Agent Cho to fake his death and take his place in the prison. Cho is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to go along with the plan.

Once inside the prison, Cho is approached by a member of the Nuestra Familia who goes by the name of "Tio." Tio is suspicious of Cho at first but eventually takes him under his wing and introduces him to other members of the gang.

Meanwhile, back at CBI headquarters, Agent Rigsby and Van Pelt discover that one of the murder victims was a former member of the Nuestra Familia who had turned informant. They also find a list of names on the victim's computer that they believe could be potential targets.

As Cho continues to gather information inside the prison, he learns that the gang is planning a major hit on a rival gang called the Mexican Mafia. He also discovers that Tio is the leader of the Nuestra Familia and is responsible for ordering the murders outside of the convenience store.

With this information, the team is able to prevent the hit from taking place and they arrest Tio and several other members of the gang. However, they soon discover that Tio has an accomplice on the outside who is still at large.

The episode ends with Jane meeting with a man named Red John, who we learn is the serial killer who murdered Jane's wife and daughter. Red John tells Jane that he has been watching him and that he admires his work as a mentalist. He warns Jane that he needs to be careful because there are people who want to hurt him and his team.

Overall, "Blood Brothers" is a tense and action-packed episode that delivers on all fronts. It features some great performances from the cast, particularly from Simon Baker as Jane and Tim Kang as Cho. It also sets up some major plot points that will carry over into future seasons of the show. Fans of The Mentalist won't want to miss this exciting season finale.
