Ep 5. Our Future

In this adrenaline rush of an episode, the 250-class title hunt of 2012 was a head-to-head battle between Eli Tomac, Blake Baggett, Dean Wilson, Justin Barcia, Marvin Musquin, and Ken Roczen. The work they put in during the week all converge come race day where, regardless of circumstance, they all find themselves on the same starting line. Having only won three Moto's between 2010 and 2011, Justin Barcia invested a lot of his own money in building a track in Florida where he could practice. This proved to be fruitful, landing Barcia on the podium enough times to put him within 14 points of Baggett at the second to last race of the year in Steel City. New to the American Pro Series, Ken Roczen is this year's biggest question mark. Holding the record as the youngest ever GP winner, many believed that Ken would follow in the footsteps of the some of the greatest riders in Europe. But the American Outdoor series presents challenges unlike anything found abroad. Marvin Musquin, a fellow European transplant is in his second year racing in the United States and can attest to the difficulties of riding as an unknown in a new country with little support. The intense heat and grueling outdoor tracks push the limits of physical fitness, and if the Europeans are going to dominate the American market they will have to adapt quickly or face going home disappointed. Even for those raised in the United States, battling heat exhaustion on the tracks proves to be challenging. But no team is better equipped to breed champions than Mitch Payton's Pro Circuit Team, which has won the number plate every year for the past eight years. With the pressure of the past weighing on him, Blake Baggett will fight to the bitter end to clench the title for Pro Circuit once again and take home the Championship.
