In season 7 episode 8 of The Office, titled "Viewing Party," the Dunder Mifflin employees gather together at someone's house to watch a rival paper company's commercial that they suspect will be mocking their own company.

The episode opens with Michael Scott enthusiastically announcing that he has received an invitation to a viewing party at Gabe Lewis's apartment. Gabe is the new Sabre corporate liaison who has recently taken over as the Scranton branch's boss. Michael is under the impression that the invitation is an olive branch, a gesture of friendship from Gabe, and he is excited to attend.

The party falls on the same night as the Dundies, an annual awards ceremony hosted by Michael at the local Chili's restaurant. Despite the scheduling conflict, most of the employees choose to attend the viewing party, as they are curious to see the commercial and want to show support for their company.

As the employees arrive at Gabe's apartment, they quickly realize that it is not a casual get-together but a full-blown themed party, complete with decorations and costumes. The theme is "Glee," which confuses and annoys most of the guests, as only a few have seen the show.

As the night progresses, tensions rise as the employees become increasingly frustrated with Gabe's smug and pretentious behavior. Gabe's new girlfriend, Erin, also makes things uncomfortable with her awkward attempts to impress Gabe and fit in with the group. Michael tries to lighten the mood with his trademark humor, but his jokes fall flat and only add to the awkwardness.

When the commercial finally airs, the employees are shocked to see that it is indeed a direct attack on Dunder Mifflin, mocking the company and its employees. The commercial features a character based on Michael, played by a look-alike actor, and depicts him as an incompetent buffoon. The employees are furious and hurt, feeling like they have been disrespected and humiliated on a national level.

The remainder of the episode sees the employees attempting to come to terms with the commercial and find a way to fight back and preserve their dignity. They brainstorm revenge tactics, considering everything from a counter-ad to a boycott of the rival company's products.

Ultimately, "Viewing Party" serves as a commentary on the cutthroat world of business and the lengths that companies will go to get ahead. It also highlights the importance of loyalty and camaraderie amongst co-workers. Despite their differences and conflicts, the employees of Dunder Mifflin band together in the face of adversity, demonstrating the strength of their bond and their determination to unite against a common enemy.
