The Queen's Garden is a delightful docuseries from ITV featuring Britain's favourite gardener, Alan Titchmarsh, as he takes viewers behind the scenes at Buckingham Palace and explores the magnificent gardens that surround the Queen's official residence. The show offers a rare glimpse into the private royal gardens that are usually inaccessible to the public. Titchmarsh takes the audience on a tour of the 39-acre site, revealing the history, beauty, and symbolism behind every plant, tree, and flower. From the stunning herbaceous border to the immaculately kept lawns, each part of the gardens has a story to tell.

The Queen's Garden is much more than a simple gardening show. The series takes an intriguing look at the history and architecture of Buckingham Palace, sharing how Queen Victoria and Prince Albert transformed the Palace into a centre of royal life. Titchmarsh also shares curious details about the gardens, such as how they were used during World War II to grow vegetables for the palace kitchen.

Throughout the series, Titchmarsh interviews the people who work tirelessly to maintain the gardens. The conversations include a chat with the Head Gardener who shares the challenges they face, the techniques they use to ensure the plants thrive and the rich history of the gardens. Titchmarsh is passionate about these gardens, and his enthusiasm is contagious. Whether he is discussing the planting schemes, inherited from a long line of royal gardeners or the challenges of keeping invasive deer out of the private gardens, Titchmarsh's love for the gardens shines through in every episode.

In each of the four episodes, viewers get to see different aspects of the gardens throughout the seasons. Titchmarsh reveals how each time of the year brings a different set of challenges and rewards. From the early spring days, to the glorious autumnal colours, the audience can see the beauty and transformations throughout the year.

Perhaps the most exciting moment of the series comes when Titchmarsh gets to meet the Queen herself. In the final episode of the series, he presents Her Majesty with a bouquet of flowers straight from her own gardens. The Queen, who is known for her love of horticulture, shares her delight and knowledge of the plants, revealing the depth and sincerity of her relationship with the gardens.

The Queen's Garden is a perfect mixture of history, interview, and horticultural knowledge, which provides a window into the wonderful world of Buckingham Palace.
