The Steve Wilkos Show Season 14 Episode 21 Who Fractured your 2 month old baby's skull
- November 2, 2020
As a talk show host, Steve Wilkos focuses on helping families in crisis. In the fourteenth season, he continues this mission as he mediates disputes, uncovers secrets, and offers his wisdom and guidance to those in need. In episode 21, the topic at hand is a brutal case of child abuse.
The episode is entitled "Who Fractured your 2 month old baby's skull" and it begins with Wilkos speaking directly to the camera, stating that there is no excuse for hurting a child. He then introduces the guest of the show, a woman named Ashlee who is fighting to get justice for her child. Ashlee tells Wilkos that her ex-boyfriend, Jake, had taken care of their two-month-old daughter while she was at work one day. When Ashlee came back, she noticed that her daughter was crying and had a bulge on her head. She took the baby to the hospital where it was discovered that her skull had been fractured.
Ashlee, understandably, was devastated. She went to the police, who arrested Jake and charged him with child abuse. But Jake maintains his innocence and claims that he didn't hurt the baby. Ashlee has come to The Steve Wilkos Show to try to get some answers and to clear her name.
Wilkos then brings Jake onto the stage and begins to question him. Jake denies hurting the baby, but his story is full of holes. He claims that the baby was crying and he picked her up to comfort her. He says that he accidentally dropped her on the floor, which caused the skull fracture. However, this story doesn't make sense to Wilkos or to Ashlee. A two-month-old baby doesn't have the strength to wriggle free from someone's arms, much less fall from a height that would cause a skull fracture.
As the episode progresses, Wilkos brings out more guests to try to get to the bottom of this mystery. There is a doctor who specializes in pediatric neurosurgery – he examines the baby's medical records and tells Wilkos and the audience that there is no way that the baby's injuries were caused by a simple fall. Another guest is a forensic psychiatrist who explains to the audience how perpetrators of child abuse often lie and manipulate their way out of punishment.
By the end of the episode, Wilkos has uncovered the truth – Jake had indeed hurt the baby, and the injuries were consistent with abusive head trauma. The truth is horrifying, but by shining a light on this case, Wilkos has helped bring justice to Ashlee and her daughter.
The Steve Wilkos Show is not for the faint of heart. Each episode tackles tough topics and provides a raw glimpse into some of the darkest aspects of human behavior. But it's also a show that aims to provide hope – hope for justice, hope for healing, and hope for a better future. In "Who Fractured your 2 month old baby's skull", Wilkos delivers on that promise, helping Ashlee and her family move forward with their lives.
