The Steve Wilkos Show Season 8 Episode 23 You've Tested Her Before, Will You Believe These Results?
- October 15, 2014
A man named Bob comes onto the show alleging that his girlfriend, Mary, has been cheating on him with his own cousin, Leroy. He's already had her take a lie detector test before, which she passed with flying colors, but he still believes that she's cheating on him and wants her to take another test. Mary agrees to take the test again and says she's confident that she'll pass, but Leroy is very angry at being accused and storms out of the studio.
During the test, Steve reveals that Mary has failed one of the questions, which asks whether she's had sexual contact with anyone other than Bob since they've been together. Mary denies it, but the lie detector test indicates that she's lying. Bob is devastated and demands to know who Mary's been cheating with, but Steve intervenes and says they should bring out Leroy to tell his side of the story.
Leroy initially denies having any kind of relationship with Mary, but after being pressed by Steve, he finally admits that they did have a brief fling a year ago. Bob is furious and wants to fight Leroy, but Steve again steps in and tells them to calm down.
Steve talks to Mary alone, asking her why she lied on the lie detector test and whether she still has feelings for Leroy. Mary admits that she does still have feelings for him, but that she loves Bob too and doesn't want to lose him. Steve tells her that she needs to come clean with Bob and tell him the truth, but that it's up to them whether they want to stay together or not.
In the end, Bob and Mary both say that they want to try to work things out, but that it's going to take time and a lot of communication. Leroy apologizes for his part in the situation and says that he's willing to stay out of their lives if that's what they want.
The episode ends with Steve urging the audience to be honest with their partners and to trust their instincts if they suspect that something's not right in their relationships.
