The Vet Life is a reality television show that follows the lives of Dr. Diarra Blue, Dr. Aubrey Ross, and Dr. Michael Lavigne, who run a veterinary clinic in Houston, Texas. In season 4 episode 8, titled Yogi Goat, the team faces some unique patients and challenges.
The episode starts with Dr. Blue getting an emergency call from a farmer who needs help with his goat, Yogi. Yogi is a prized goat who has been acting lethargic for the past few days. Dr. Blue and Dr. Lavigne drive out to the farm to try and figure out what is wrong with Yogi. After a thorough examination, they find that Yogi has a nasty infection in his foot. They also discover that Yogi has been spending most of his time in a dirty pen, which has worsened his condition.
To treat Yogi, Dr. Blue and Dr. Lavigne start him on antibiotics and dress his wound. They also give him a tetanus shot, as goats are known to be very susceptible to tetanus. However, they are concerned that Yogi's foot may not heal properly due to the severity of the infection and the fact that he has been walking on it for several days.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ross is faced with an unusual case – a dog with a broken tooth. While a broken tooth may not seem like a serious issue, it can be problematic if left untreated, and can lead to infections and even organ damage. Dr. Ross needs to sedate the dog in order to remove the broken tooth and clean the area. However, the dog is a senior, which makes the sedation process more complicated.
After some careful planning and preparation, Dr. Ross sedates the dog successfully and removes the broken tooth. She cleans the area thoroughly and gives the dog a course of antibiotics to prevent any infections from occurring.
Back at the farm, Dr. Blue and Dr. Lavigne discover that Yogi's wound is not healing as well as they had hoped. The infection has spread to the bone, which makes the healing process more challenging. They decide to take Yogi back to the clinic to monitor him more closely and give him better treatment. However, transporting a goat is never easy, and the team faces some unusual challenges along the way.
Once back at the clinic, Dr. Blue and Dr. Lavigne start Yogi on a more aggressive treatment plan, involving daily wound cleaning and bandaging, as well as additional antibiotics. They also use stem cell therapy to encourage the growth of new tissue and bone in Yogi's injured foot.
As Yogi begins to recover, the team faces some other unique cases, including a potbellied pig with a skin condition and a corgi with a broken leg. Despite the challenges, the team remains dedicated to helping their patients, big and small.
In the end, Yogi makes a remarkable recovery, thanks to the team's hard work and dedication. The farmer is overjoyed to have his prized goat back in good health and is grateful for the team's efforts. The episode ends with the team feeling proud of the work they do and looking forward to helping more animals in need.
