Ep 1. My Struggle

In "My Struggle," the premiere episode of The X-Files season 10, viewers are reunited with FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), six years after their last investigation.

The episode begins with a voiceover from Mulder in which he describes the events that led him to be pulled out of the FBI and Scully to abandon her medical career. The opening scene takes place in 2002, where a young woman, Sveta (Annet Mahendru), claims to have been abducted and used for alien genetic experiments.

Fast forward to present day, and Mulder and Scully are still living separate lives. Mulder, now sporting a scraggly beard, is living in isolation and still chasing the truth about extraterrestrial life, while Scully is working as a surgeon at a Catholic hospital, having become disillusioned with the FBI.

The former partners are brought back together when Tad O'Malley (Joel McHale), a conspiracy theorist and online media personality, reaches out to them for help with a new case involving Sveta. O'Malley believes that the government is keeping the truth about aliens and their involvement in human affairs from the public, and has evidence to support his claims.

Mulder and Scully end up meeting with Sveta, who claims that she is one of a select few humans who have been used for the aliens' genetic experiments, and that the government has been covering up their involvement. However, her story is met with skepticism from Scully, who warns Mulder not to believe everything he hears.

Throughout the episode, Mulder and Scully are forced to grapple with their own beliefs, both about the paranormal and about their own relationship. They revisit old haunts, like the partially abandoned office of the X-Files department, and encounter familiar faces, including Mulder's old informant, the cigarette-smoking man.

As the investigation continues, the agents are drawn deeper into a web of conspiracy and cover-ups, leading to a shocking conclusion that will leave fans eagerly anticipating the next episode.

The X-Files season 10's first episode aims to both pay homage to the beloved original series while also incorporating new elements to appeal to a modern audience. Fans will certainly not want to miss this long-awaited reunion of Mulder and Scully.
