Ep 6. Redrum

He figures out that if he can go back in time and prevent the crime from happening, then he won't be sentenced to death. But to do that, he needs Mulder's help.

Mulder realizes that the only way to stop Wells from changing the past is to figure out why he's doing it in the first place. With Scully's help, he uncovers a shocking chain of events that led to Wells being blamed for a crime he didn't commit. And when they finally confront Wells, they realize that he's been playing a game with them all along.

"Redrum" is a suspenseful episode that explores the concept of time travel and its consequences. It keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats as they follow the twists and turns of the story. The acting is top-notch, with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as strong as ever in their roles as Mulder and Scully. The guest actor who portrays Martin Wells is also excellent, bringing a convincing mix of charm and menace to the character.

The episode's themes of justice and redemption are also compelling. Wells' desperation to clear his name is understandable, but his methods of achieving that goal are questionable at best. The X-Files has always been a show that explores the gray areas of morality, and "Redrum" is no exception.
