Three Stooges Collection 1940-1942 Season 1 Episode 5

Ep 5. How High Is Up?

In the fifth episode of the Three Stooges Collection 1940-1942 season 1, titled "How High Is Up?", the comedic trio finds themselves working at a construction site. Their supervisor, played by actor Lynton Brent, is less than impressed with their work ethic and continually reprimands them for their incompetence. Despite their inability to perform even the simplest of tasks, the Stooges are determined to prove themselves and finally get the job done.

The episode opens with Moe, Larry, and Curly reporting to work at the construction site. They are immediately put to work by their boss, who orders them to move a piano up several flights of stairs. Predictably, chaos ensues as the three try to maneuver the cumbersome instrument up the narrow stairway, resulting in several slapstick mishaps and one particularly memorable scene involving Curly being trapped inside the piano.

As the episode progresses, the Stooges are tasked with a series of increasingly difficult jobs, including painting the side of a building and operating heavy machinery. Despite their best efforts, however, they continue to bungle every task they are given. Eventually, their boss reaches the end of his patience and fires them on the spot.

But just when all seems lost, the Stooges receive a lucky break when they are hired by a rival construction company to demolish the very same building they were working on earlier. Using their unique brand of slapstick comedy, the trio make quick work of the demolition, much to the amazement of their new employers.

In the end, "How High Is Up?" is a classic Three Stooges episode that showcases the group's signature brand of physical comedy. With its hilarious sight gags and zany antics, the episode is sure to leave viewers laughing out loud from beginning to end.
