Toward The Terra season 1 episode 3, Ataraxia, begins with the Solteck Corporation, the company that created and grew the Mu race, using their power to control the entire universe. The episode showcases the Solteck Corporation's manipulation of the government and introduces the concept of "Ataraxia," a condition of complete absence of anxiety, which is said to be a part of every Mu's nature. It is implied that the Solteck Corporation has manipulated the Mu race to be perfectly suited to control the universe, as they can live and operate at the highest level of efficiency when in a state of Ataraxia.

The episode shifts its focus to Jomy, a young Mu who is struggling with his identity and the source of his powers. He is approached by an enigmatic younger Mu named Tony, who encourages Jomy to follow his instincts and to explore his power. Meanwhile, the government is beginning to realize the threat posed by the Mu, and has started a campaign to destroy the race before they can take control.

As Jomy struggles with his internal conflict, the government's campaign against the Mu results in the massacre of several Mu enclaves. It is revealed that the government has developed a technology to detect Mu brainwaves, enabling them to track and exterminate entire Mu populations. This leads to a sense of urgency among the surviving Mu, who realize that they must rally together and fight back to survive.

Jomy realizes that the only way forward is to explore his powers and his connection to the universe. Along with a group of other Mu renegades, he begins an intense training regimen, honing his abilities and developing a deeper understanding of his connection to the universe.

The episode concludes with the realization that the Mu will have to band together and fight against the Solteck Corporation and the government, in order to save themselves and establish their place in the universe.
