True Blood is a popular television series from HBO, which was aired from 2008 to 2014. The show is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels by Charlaine Harris. The plot revolves around the small town of Bon Temps in Louisiana, where vampires have come out of the coffin after the development of synthetic blood substitutes. The show stars Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress who gets involved with the vampire community in her town after she falls in love with the mysterious vampire Bill Compton, played by Stephen Moyer.
