After the events of last episode, Kazuya's worry increases for Kiriha's well being since her powers still haven't returned. As he discusses this with Kukuri, they realize that Kiriha is still trying to recover her powers, but it's only making keeping herself human more difficult. On a certain day, Kukuri decides to take Kazuya on a trip to the nearby shrine, with the hope that it'll help give them some peace of mind. However, things quickly become chaotic when they come across a group of perverted thugs who've been harassing a young woman. Kazuya, Kukuri, and Kiriha team up to stop the attackers and drive them off.
After the altercation, Kukuri reveals that the young woman is actually her sister, Kotetsu, who's come to visit. Kotetsu is cheerful and energetic, but somewhat naive and prone to getting herself into trouble. Kukuri's main concern is that Kotetsu has picked up a bad habit of sticking to anyone who smells nice, which can be a big problem when dealing with perverts. This becomes apparent when a nice smelling man shows up and Kotetsu insists on sticking to him, despite Kukuri's warnings.
Meanwhile, Kiriha has been struggling with the fact that she can no longer transform into her true form. Kazuya tries to help by encouraging her to explore her new human form and find new ways to use her powers. Kiriha is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to give it a try. As they walk around the shrine, Kiriha sees a group of small children playing with yo-yos and decides to try it out herself. To everyone's surprise, Kiriha is a natural at yo-yo tricks and even manages to impress the children.
As the day goes on, Kazuya and Kiriha end up separated from Kukuri and Kotetsu. They come across a group of delinquents who are causing trouble. Kazuya tries to reason with them, but when they attack, Kiriha steps in and demonstrates her skills with her new yo-yo. She's able to hold the delinquents at bay, and eventually, Kukuri and Kotetsu arrive to help.
After the fight, Kukuri congratulates Kiriha on her newfound skill with the yo-yo. Kiriha admits that she never knew she had such a talent, but now feels more confident in her new human form. Kotetsu then thanks Kazuya, Kukuri, and Kiriha for helping her out of a tough spot. She also promises to be more careful about sticking to people who smell nice.
As the four of them leave the shrine, Kazuya reflects on how much he's learned about himself and his companions. He realizes that it's not just about mastering their fighting techniques, but also about exploring new and unexpected sides of themselves. With a renewed sense of purpose, Kazuya is ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
Overall, "A Certain Day in the Kagami Household/The Super Popular Fragrance" is a fun and lighthearted episode that showcases the different strengths and personalities of the main characters. It also hints at deeper character development to come, particularly for Kiriha, who learns to adapt to her new form and explore new talents. The episode also provides some much-needed levity after the darker events of the past few episodes.
