Ep 15. Brothers

Betty Suarez is trying to make a name for herself in the fashion world and episode 15, entitled “Brothers,” finds her in a particularly difficult situation. Betty is tasked with setting up a photo shoot for a new perfume that the magazine is promoting, but she only has a few hours to pull it off. To make matters even more challenging, Betty’s older sister, Hilda, drops by unexpectedly with her two sons, Justin and Santos. Betty’s job hangs in the balance as she navigates the photo shoot while simultaneously trying to keep her nephew out of harm’s way.

Meanwhile, Daniel Meade, Betty’s boss, is dealing with his own issues. His younger brother, Alex, has just arrived in town and it quickly becomes apparent that the two have a strained relationship. Alex is charismatic and charming, but he also has a history of drug addiction and has hit rock bottom more than once. As the episode progresses, the viewer learns more about the complicated and troubled relationship between the Meade brothers.

Add to this plenty of office drama, some unexpected romantic interludes, and a few surprising twists and turns, and it's clear that "Brothers" is a standout episode of season 1. The show’s excellent cast shines once again, bringing depth and nuance to their respective roles. For fans of the show, this episode is not to be missed.
