In this episode of Unique Sweets season 6, viewers are taken on a journey to the Low Country of South Carolina and Georgia, where they discover some unique and delicious desserts. Hostess Georgia Hardstark starts her journey at Callie's Hot Little Biscuit in Charleston, South Carolina, where she samples their famous biscuits and gravy. She then heads to The Red House Bakery in Savannah, Georgia, where she tastes their mouth-watering raspberry cream cheese danish.
Next, the show takes us to Sugar Bakeshop, a quaint bakery located in Charleston. The owner, Bill Bowick, explains his inspiration for opening the bakery and his unique flavor combinations, such as his Salted Caramel Cupcake and Chocolate Bacon Cupcake. Viewers get to see the bakers in action as they decorate the cupcakes and make their famous Gooey Butter Bars.
The episode then takes a turn to the savory side as Hardstark visits the restaurant Husk in Charleston. Chef Travis Grimes whips up his famous Fried Chicken Skin with honey and hot sauce, a unique twist on the classic fried chicken dish. Hardstark tries their Chocolate-covered Pralines and their Pecan Log Roll, both of which are customer favorites.
