In Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea season 1 episode 23 titled "The Human Computer," the crew of the Seaview submarine is faced with a crisis when a defecting scientist brings aboard a serum that can turn humans into living computers. When a saboteur aboard the Seaview injects the serum into one of the crew members, he gains unprecedented intelligence and knowledge, but also becomes unemotional and robotic.
As the Seaview travels to investigate a strange phenomenon in the Arctic, the crew must figure out a way to stop the growing threat of the "human computer," who is quickly taking over control of the submarine's systems and endangering the crew. The crew also races against time to find an antidote for the serum before the transformation becomes permanent.
Captain Crane and Admiral Nelson enlist the help of the defecting scientist, who reveals that he has the antidote but is being held captive by enemy agents on a nearby island. With the help of the Seaview's flying sub, the crew sets out to rescue the scientist and acquire the antidote.
Meanwhile, the "human computer" continues to grow in power, using his newfound abilities to manipulate and control the submarine's systems. The crew struggles to regain control and ultimately sets off an explosive to disable the "human computer."
In the end, the antidote is administered to the infected crew member just in time, and the Seaview safely returns to port. The episode ends with a warning about the dangers of technology and the importance of human emotions and intuition in decision-making.
