Nancy Botwin, a single mother and former suburban housewife, enters into the world of drug dealing to make ends meet after her husband's untimely death. In season 5, episode 2, titled "Machetes Up Top," Nancy finds herself in over her head as she tries to expand her marijuana business into Mexico.

Following the death of her Mexican drug cartel boss, Nancy sees an opportunity to take over his distribution network. Meanwhile, back in the United States, Nancy's sons Shane and Silas start their own business selling counterfeit jeans. However, their newfound success attracts the attention of a local gang that demands a cut of their profits.

As Nancy tries to navigate the dangerous world of Mexican drug cartels, she must also keep her family safe and avoid the threat of the gang back home. With tensions rising on all fronts, Nancy must make some difficult decisions to ensure the survival of her business and her family.

"Machetes Up Top" is a thrilling episode that showcases the high stakes of Nancy's drug dealing enterprise. As she ventures into unfamiliar territory in Mexico, the episode explores the intersection of power, violence, and family.
