WKRP in Cincinnati season 1 episode 2, titled "Pilot (2)", picks up where the pilot episode left off. Andy Travis, the new program director at struggling radio station WKRP, is still trying to shake things up in order to boost ratings. He's convinced that a radical new format is the key to success and has brought on a bunch of new staff members to help carry out his vision.

As the episode opens, we see Andy leading a meeting with the station's sales team to pitch his new format. He's met with skepticism and pushback, as the team is concerned that their existing clients won't be interested in the new direction the station is taking. Despite their concerns, Andy remains confident that his plan will work and implores the sales team to give it a chance.

Next, we see Andy meeting with his new morning DJ, Venus Flytrap. Venus is a cool, suave guy who's confident he can win over listeners with his smooth style. He's excited to be part of the new direction of the station, and Andy is thrilled to have him on board.

Later in the episode, we see Andy introducing the station's newest personality, a brash and outspoken female DJ named Bailey Quarters. Bailey is hesitant at first, unsure if her style will fit in with the rest of the lineup. However, Andy assures her that he believes in her and thinks she'll be a great addition to WKRP.

As the episode moves along, we see the different DJs trying out their new formats and gimmicks. Johnny Fever, the station's longtime DJ, is struggling to adapt to the changes. He's accustomed to playing classic rock and doesn't understand why he's now being asked to play disco and other newer genres. Meanwhile, another DJ, Les Nessman, is struggling with his traffic reporter duties and accidentally causes a pileup on a major highway. And Venus is having trouble with a listener who keeps calling in and harassing him.

Throughout the episode, Andy is doing his best to keep the staff motivated and on track, despite their various struggles. He's determined to make his new format work, even if it means alienating some of the station's current listeners. As the episode comes to a close, we see Andy and the crew celebrating a successful day. While they still have a long way to go, they're confident that they're on the right track.

Overall, this episode sets up the rest of the series nicely. We get a sense of who the characters are and what their roles will be going forward. We also see how Andy's plans will impact the station and how his staff will react to the changes. While it's not the most action-packed episode, it's a necessary one as it lays the groundwork for the rest of the series.
