In Worst Cooks in America season 2 episode 5, the competitors are tasked with cooking for a game day party. The mentors, Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Robert Irvine, bring in a special guest, former NFL player and Iron Chef, Michael Symon, who will be judging their dishes.
The competition starts with a game of "Seven-Layer Dip" toss, where the competitors have to throw a beanbag into different dishes that contain ingredients for seven-layer dip. The contestants with the lowest scores have to start the main challenge in a handicap.
For the main challenge, the chefs have to make two appetizers and a main dish that would be perfect for a game day party. This challenge is particularly difficult because the contestants have to think about how to make dishes that are easy to eat while watching the game and can be prepared ahead of time.
The tension rises as the clock ticks down, and some of the contestants struggle with their dishes. Chef Symon visits each station, giving his opinion about the food and helping the cooks with some tips.
Time is up, and the contestants have to present their dishes to the judges. The three dishes that received the highest scores move to the next round, while the remaining contestants prepare for the elimination challenge.
The elimination challenge is a "kitchen raid" challenge, where the contestants have to create a dish using only the ingredients they can find in Chef Anne or Chef Robert's pantry. The catch is that they can only use three ingredients, and they cannot repeat the same ingredient twice.
The contestants struggle with finding the right combination of ingredients, but eventually, they present their dishes to the judges. Chef Symon joins Anne and Robert in the judging and gives his opinion on the dishes.
At the end of the episode, the mentor with the most wins gets to steal a contestant from the other team, creating a dramatic turn in the competition. The stakes are getting higher as the contestants get closer to the grand finale and the chance to win $25,000.
