The episode of WWE Raw season 26 on Mon, Oct 7, 2019, kicked off with a lively introduction by the Raw announce team, consisting of Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Renee Young. They highlighted the road to the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view event, which was just over a week away.
Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, and Rey Mysterio Jr. kicked off the first segment of Raw. Heyman introduced Lesnar as the reigning WWE champion, ahead of his title defense against Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel. The crowd engaged in a back-and-forth chant of "Mysterio" and "Lesnar", which was quickly hushed by Lesnar's music.
Mysterio spoke about his son, Dominick, who Lesnar attacked during the previous week's Raw. Mysterio challenged Lesnar to a match at Crown Jewel, and Heyman attempted to sweeten the pot by offering to put Mysterio's mask on the line. Lesnar accepted the challenge, and Mysterio went on to face Cesaro in a match later on in the show.
The next segment was a Survivor Series qualifier match between AJ Styles and Cedric Alexander. The match started off with both competitors displaying their technical prowess, but Styles quickly took control with a barrage of big moves and near-falls. Despite Alexander's stamina, Styles sealed the win with his signature Styles Clash finisher.
In a backstage interview, Lana introduced Bobby Lashley as her new "rock" and "lover". She went on to say that their relationship was the reason behind Rusev's absence from the show, alleging that he asked for time off to be with his family. The legitimacy of her claims would later be put into question.
In another Survivor Series qualifier match, The Viking Raiders faced off against the team of Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. The match had its ups and downs, with both teams showcasing their strengths. In the end, the Viking Raiders emerged victorious with an impressive double-team finisher.
In the third Survivor Series qualifier match, Natalya took on Lacey Evans in a feud that had been brewing for weeks. Both competitors put up a good showing, with Evans' strength and athleticism being countered by Natalya's experience and submission skills. Natalya ultimately won the match by submission, earning her spot in the Survivor Series team.
Mysterio versus Cesaro was the next match on the card, with both competitors determined to make a statement. Cesaro took the early advantage with a series of explosive moves, but Mysterio fought back with his aerial ability. The match ended in controversy, as Mysterio's attempt to pin Cesaro was interrupted by an attack from Lesnar. Mysterio was left battered and bruised as Lesnar and Heyman made their exit.
The main event of the show was a tag team match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, and the team of Randy Orton and Baron Corbin. Rollins and Reigns had been at odds with Orton and Corbin in recent weeks, with tensions rising between both teams. The match had its share of high-octane action, with all four competitors displaying their in-ring prowess.
Orton and Corbin seemed to be in control for most of the match, until Rollins and Reigns mounted a comeback with a series of hard-hitting moves and finishers. In the end, Rollins pinned Corbin for the win, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Overall, the Mon, Oct 7, 2019 episode of WWE Raw was a strong one, with several intriguing matches and storylines. The episode laid the groundwork for the upcoming Hell In A Cell and Crown Jewel events, while also advancing several ongoing feuds.
