Four young cooks bravely take on the Chopped kitchen once again for the second installment of the Teen Tournament. The contestants will have to use all their culinary creativity and skill to impress the judges and stay in the game.
In the first round, the teens must incorporate labneh, a tangy Middle Eastern spread made from yogurt, into their appetizer dishes. With just 20 minutes on the clock, the young chefs race against time to perfect their dishes, hoping to avoid getting eliminated.
Moving on to the entrée round, the contestants face a tough challenge as they are asked to prepare fish tacos using strange and unpredictable ingredients like popcorn and gummy worms. They must balance the sweet and salty flavors to create a dish that is well-rounded and worthy of praise.
The final round is the most challenging yet, as the finalists find out they must create a dessert using red hot candies and tahini, a paste made from sesame seeds. With only 30 minutes on the clock, the challenge is nail-biting and intense as the young chefs push themselves to the limit to create a dessert worthy of the grand prize.
Throughout the tournament, the contestants not only have to impress the judges with their culinary abilities, but they also need to show their ability to adapt and think on their feet, as they adjust the flavor profiles to unpredictable ingredients and overcome unexpected challenges along the way.
Who will impress the judges the most and take home the coveted title of the Teen Tournament champion? Tune in to Season 20, Episode 9 of Chopped to find out.
