She believes that Inhyeon is infertile and therefore unable to produce a male heir for the kingdom. Queen Dowager Jo decides to involve Dong Yi in her scheme and orders her to tell the king that Inhyeon is unable to have children.

As Dong Yi becomes more involved in the palace politics, she realizes that she must be careful about who she trusts. She is drawn to the king's chief eunuch, Chun Soo, who she believes is a kind and trustworthy person. However, she is also suspicious of Lady Choi, a high-ranking court lady who seems to be involved in Queen Dowager Jo's plans.

As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that Queen Dowager Jo's plans are beginning to go awry. King Sukjong starts to suspect that Lady Jang is involved in the plot against Inhyeon, and Dong Yi becomes caught in the middle of a dangerous game of politics and power.
