Hip Hop Squares is a game show on MTV. This game show features some of the best rappers and hip hop entertainers(both currently and from the past). The game show is similar to tic tac toe in which a person must get three squares in a row in order to win. The players, play three games of tic tac toe and whoever has the most amount of points wins. The points are awarded based on the amount of correct questions answered. The premise of the game is simple two players are asked questions about various subjects and must choose a certain entertainer to answer the question correctly. If the contestant believes the entertainer's answer is correct they get that square, but if its wrong then they lose that square. They continue to play until time is up and the next round commences.

This show aired on May 22, 2012 and is still continuing to air new episodes. This show aires on Tuesdays at 11pm(et) and is taped from Brooklyn, New York. A win in the first two rounds is worth five hundred dollars,the third round is worth a thousand and the bonus round is twenty five hundred dollars. Similar to Hollywood square the secret square is known as the G-Spot and is worth an additional thousand dollar bonus. Peter Rosenberg is the host while Disc jokey Ms Nix is the commentator/disc jokey.

This show was created by Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley(who also created Hollywood Square).This show has a variety of entertainers from Childish Gambino and Ghost face killah to Fat Joe and Miss Info. The entertainers interact with both the contestants, but the host as well as other entertainers to make the show more entertaining. Unlike its counterpart Hollywood squares, the themes and questions asked on this show are more urban related. The question usually focus on topics within the community, topics in urban music as well as urban lifestyle.
