Ep 24. Doppelgangers

In the epic season 5 finale of How I Met Your Mother, the gang is on a wild and wacky adventure to find their doppelgangers (look-alikes). As the gang gathers at MacLaren's Pub, Lily discovers her own doppelganger, a Russian stripper named Jasmine. Meanwhile, Ted meets a woman from the past who he believes could be his true love, while Marshall and Barney search for their own doppelgangers to no avail.

As the night goes on, the group splits up to continue their search, with Robin and Barney hitting up a trendy club and Ted and Marshall hitting up a church singles mixer. Ultimately, they all find their respective look-alikes in hilarious and unexpected ways.

Robin finds her doppelganger in a ditzy receptionist, but it's not until she meets her match that she realizes how much she is willing to give up to be with someone who just gets her.

Ted's doppelganger, a pompous architect named Bilson, might be the missing piece in his quest to find true love, but it's not until he has an emotional encounter with someone from his past that he realizes what he really wants in life.

Marshall's search for his doppelganger takes him on a wild ride through the streets of New York City, with the help of an unexpected ally. Along the way, he discovers that sometimes the best things in life are the ones right in front of you.

As for Barney, he never does find his doppelganger, but he does learn a valuable lesson about the importance of being true to oneself.

The episode ends with a touching moment between Ted and Barney, as they reflect on their search for doppelgangers and how far they have come since they first met. In the end, they all realize that the journey is what matters most, and that their truest look-alikes are the people who have been with them all along.
