Jimi Hendrix: The Uncut Story is divided into three separate episodes. Episode 1 focuses on his childhood. Episode 2 sheds light on his rise to making his way to the top in the music industry. Finally, episode 3 is about Jimi and the Jimi Hendrix Experience's time at the top. Then, it looks into what led to Jimi's death.
The documentary opens up with the first twenty years of Jimi's life. He grew up in Seattle, Washington. His oldest friends and family detail this time of his life. This section gives reason to why Jimi became infatuated with music, and how he became who he grew up to be. As a young man, Jimi joins the army. After that his music career begins. He begins in an act that had the fortunate luck to play with some of the biggest names in the industry. This section follows Jimi to New York and back to London, where his popularity booms. Other famous musicians and people who got to experience Jimi's performances in these days provide interviews for this part.
The final part of the documentary looks at the peak of Jimi's career, and what exactly put him on the path to his passing. This documentary is not fully authorized. For that reason, it does not contain Jimi's music.
