In Kuroshitsuji season 1 episode 22, titled "His Butler, Dissolution," Sebastian is still recovering from his injuries sustained in the previous episode. While he recuperates, Ciel goes undercover at a boarding school to investigate the disappearance of a student.

Ciel is posing as a student under the identity of a Viscount, and Sebastian is disguised as his butler. The school is known for its strict disciplinary policies, and the students are constantly being punished for trivial reasons. Despite the harsh treatment, the students are curiously content with their circumstances.

Ciel suspects foul play and begins his investigation by searching through the school records. He discovers a pattern of missing students, all of whom had been punished severely before their disappearance. Furthermore, he discovers that the school is run by a group of former soldiers who are using the school as a cover-up for their shady dealings.

Meanwhile, Sebastian is still recovering but is determined to aid Ciel in his investigation. He investigates the source of the strange, calming music that the students are constantly listening to and discovers that there is a hidden message within it. The message reveals a plot by the school's headmaster to brainwash the students into becoming emotionless killing machines.

As the investigation deepens, Ciel and Sebastian become targets of the headmaster's wrath. They are forced to fight their way out of the school, battling the school's trained soldiers and the headmaster himself. Despite their injuries, Ciel and Sebastian emerge victorious and save the remaining students from the brainwashing program.

The episode ends with Ciel and Sebastian reflecting on the nature of their relationship. Ciel acknowledges that Sebastian has become more than just his butler, and Sebastian expresses his loyalty to Ciel and his desire to protect him at all costs.
