Ep 6. Show Me the Money

In season 1, episode 6 of Mountain Men, entitled "Show Me the Money," the focus shifts to financial matters. Each of the featured men is faced with the challenge of making ends meet in their own unique way.

First, Tom Oar, a seasoned trapper in Montana, prepares for the upcoming fur auction. His livelihood depends on the sale of his pelts, and he must put in long hours to prepare them for market. He also works on building a new shelter, using only materials found in the surrounding wilderness.

Meanwhile, in Alaska, Marty Meierotto tries his luck at gold mining. He has invested a significant amount of money in mining equipment, and hopes to strike it rich with his new venture. He must navigate treacherous terrain and unpredictable weather as he searches for the elusive metal.

Finally, in New Mexico, Rich Lewis works on his ranch, which is struggling to turn a profit. With the help of his son, he attempts to round up a group of unruly cattle, and then spends hours repairing a fence that has been damaged by wild animals.

Throughout the episode, the men face challenges and setbacks, but ultimately persevere in their efforts to make a living in the wilderness. Viewers are treated to stunning footage of the rugged landscapes in which they live, as well as intimate glimpses into the daily lives of these extraordinary individuals. Whether they are trapping, gold mining, or wrangling cattle, they are united by a shared determination to survive and thrive in the wild.
