The 1992 romantic film Jersey Girl is a film that talks about a man and a woman's love and what they would do to be with each other. The film received mixed reviews, but was enjoyed by most of its viewers. There aren't much love story films that are like this film, as it is a unique way to show a relationship of a couple. This film's actors also did such an amazing job, as they really made their characters come to life. Their performance was so believable that you will really believe that they were an actual couple. The short synopsis that explains the film is simple. A man named Sal is very triumphant and wealthy yuppie who does not normally do much to get a girls attention. However, this time, with this girl, everything he ever was or thought completely changes, as he actually finds himself willing to leave his position just for his love for her. Toby Mastallone portrayed by Jami Gertz would do anything to trade a Jersey Girl's local diner to switch it to become upmarket dates inside of Manhattan. However, what will this New Jersey schoolteacher that longs to look like the city girl do? Forever resourceful, she then decides to collide this battered VW to the new Mercedes of Sal (McDermott). Will this plan of hers work? What secrets have been hiding beneath Sal's yuppie exterior? When two complete opposites attract, what will people think, and what will they do fight for their love for each other? The film in itself is quite lighthearted and something that most people can relate to. It shows that sometimes fighting for the person you love is worth losing everything, as that perfect person doesn't come along in life all the time. The film has so much to offer and is a film that every couple must consider watching one of these days. It will show couples how to cherish their relationship and respect each other regardless of your backgrounds. Even singles should consider watching this film, as it will give them hope that they will find their perfect match. Although this film didn't receive the most positive reviews from movie critics, it is still a film that people everywhere should consider to watch.
