In this dystopian action movie, a post-apocalyptic world is oppressed by a brutal, evil despot. When a group of the guy's wives decide they're not going to take it any more, they rebel and enlist the help of Max, another insurgent. With the world becoming a desert wasteland following a societal collapse from warfare over resources, a survivor named Max Rockatansky is captured and taken to Immortan Joe's Citadel by the War Boys, an army led by Joe. Max is imprisoned and used as a "blood bag" for a sick War Boy called Nux. Meanwhile, Imperator Furiosa, one of Joe's lieutenants, is sent in her armoured "War Rig" to extract gasoline and ammunition. When Joe realises that his five wives are fleeing with her, he leads his army in pursuit of Furiosa, calling on the aid of nearby Gas Town and the Bullet Farm. The idea for this installment in the Mad Max franchise came to producer George Miller in 1987. It was ready for production much later in 2001 when it was delayed because of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was delayed again in 2003 because of weather and war in its shooting locations. Filming wouldn't begin for real until 2012. The film has received generally positive reviews from critics.
