Ep 7. Who Are You?

SPOILER ALERT!! This description contains SPOILERS for previous episodes of Angels of Death.

In Angels of Death season 1 episode 7, titled "Who Are You?", Rachel and Zack continue their labyrinthine journey, determined to find a way out of the building. As they ascend yet another staircase, Zack melts down the lock on the iron door with an acid solution and opens it. The next floor is different from any they've encountered so far - it's a children's playground.

The duo ventures inside, and Rachel is immediately struck by the sight of a little girl sitting on one of the swings. She seems to be staring at them, but as they approach, they realize she's not alive. The girl is a doll. Further exploration reveals that the entire floor is filled with dolls - dolls riding toy horses, dolls playing with blocks, dolls in costumes and uniforms. But they're not just any dolls - they all resemble the people Rachel and Zack have met on their journey - Danny, Eddie, Cathy, Gray, and even Dr. Danny, the psychiatrist who Rachel saw in flashbacks.

Rachel is baffled and frightened by the bizarre display, but Zack takes it in stride, juggling the dolls and making crude jokes about them. Soon, they hear footsteps and hide. A man in a wheelchair, pushing a trolley, enters the playground. He's wearing a long coat and a fedora, and his face is half obscured by shadow. He stops in front of the doll that represents Gray and speaks to it, calling it his masterpiece. He then takes out a scalpel from under his coat and lovingly runs it over the doll's features. Rachel and Zack are horrified - it's clear that they've stumbled upon a demented serial killer.

After the man leaves, Rachel and Zack try to leave the floor, but find that all the exits are locked. They decide to split up, with Rachel taking the stairs and Zack staying behind to keep watch. However, she doesn't make it very far before she encounters the man in the wheelchair again. He introduces himself as Eddie, and Rachel initially believes that he's the doll maker who created all the dolls, and that the dolls are some sort of twisted homage to his victims. However, as they talk, Eddie starts to sound increasingly familiar to Rachel. His mannerisms, his speech patterns, his knowledge of her past - they all match those of Eddie, the graveyard keeper. Rachel starts to realize that the doll maker might not be a separate entity, but a part of Eddie's personality that he keeps hidden from himself.

Meanwhile, Zack hears a loud noise and returns to the playground to find that all the dolls have been destroyed and the scalpel is missing. He senses that danger is imminent, and just as he's about to leave, he sees a figure in the shadows. It's Cathy, the girl he stabbed in episode 5. She's wielding the scalpel and looks like she's out for revenge. Zack tries to reason with her, but she doesn't listen, and they engage in a tense standoff.

As the episode ends, Rachel is still talking to Eddie, trying to piece together the puzzle of his psyche. Zack is still facing off against Cathy, who seems to be getting more unhinged by the second. The episode ends with both pairs at a crossroads - Rachel must decide how much of Eddie's true nature to confront, and Zack must figure out how to disarm Cathy without hurting her again. Will they both make it out of the playground alive? We'll have to wait for the next episode to find out.
