Ep 3. Fort Worth - Hour 3

In this episode of Antiques Roadshow, the team sets up shop in Fort Worth, Texas for the third hour of their visit, ready to uncover more treasures from the locals. As always, hopefuls line up with items they believe might hold some value - some with lofty expectations, others more measured.

One man brings in an elaborately ornate silver pitcher, passed down through several generations of his Texas family. The appraiser's eyes widen as he handles it, impressed with the quality of the workmanship and attention to detail. Will it hold up to the man's estimation of $20,000, or will the appraiser break the news that it's worth less than half that?

Meanwhile, another visitor hopes her garage sale find - a giant sculpture of a horse made entirely of barbed wire - may strike a chord with the collectors. Will they be blown away by the unique piece, or dismiss it as a novelty item with no real value?

The Roadshow regulars, including host Mark L. Walberg, expert appraisers Leigh and Leslie Keno, and a new addition to the team, welcome a steady stream of guests with their own stories and items to share. A couple with an impressive collection of vintage political buttons show them off to the group, revealing their pride in their hobby as well as a curiosity about their worth.

A producer of a local opera company brings in a striking and elaborate costume from a production of "Tosca" - will it be worth more as an antique item, or a costume rental for theater companies across the country?

And as always, there are the items that surprise and delight the team - a miniature painting that turns out to be a treasure of significant value, or a small sculpture that may be the work of a well-known and respected artist.

Through it all, the energy is high and the atmosphere is fun as the Antiques Roadshow makes its way through Texas. Whether a piece ends up being worth thousands or just a few dollars, the guests leave with a new appreciation for the history and craftsmanship that went into it, and the personal stories that make each item unique.
