Arthur season 3 episode 4, titled "Background Blues / And Now Let's Talk to Some Kids," follows Arthur and his friends as they navigate through their daily lives at school and home. In the first segment, "Background Blues," Arthur finds that he is struggling with being an only child, as his parents are too busy with work to give him the attention he needs. He expresses his frustration to his friends, who try to help by setting him up with a playdate with the new girl in school, Maria. However, things don't go as planned when Maria is more interested in her music than playing with Arthur.

Determined not to let his feelings get the best of him, Arthur sets out to find a hobby that will help him feel less lonely. He tries guitar, but quickly discovers that he's not very good at it. This leads him to join the school's jazz band, where he finds that he fits in perfectly. Arthur's new hobby not only helps him cope with his feelings of loneliness, but also helps him build new friendships and find a sense of belonging.

In the second segment, "And Now Let's Talk to Some Kids," Arthur and his classmates are excited to participate in a live radio show, where they get to share their thoughts on different topics. However, when they learn that "Kooky" Keith Grimslid, the host of the show, has a tendency to twist their words and make them sound foolish on air, they become apprehensive.

Despite their concerns, the show must go on, and Arthur and his friends take turns sharing their opinions on everything from the importance of homework to their favorite foods. Throughout the show, Keith tries to antagonize the kids by taking their words out of context and twisting them to sound ridiculous. However, to his surprise, the kids prove to be articulate and well-informed, quickly turning the tables on him. In the end, Keith is forced to admit that the kids have shown him that young people are capable of having intelligent and meaningful conversations.

Overall, "Background Blues / And Now Let's Talk to Some Kids" is a heartwarming and entertaining episode of Arthur that touches on the themes of loneliness, belonging, and the power of young voices. Through the experiences of Arthur and his friends, viewers are reminded that it's important to have hobbies and passions that bring us joy, and that young people have a lot to say and contribute to the world.
