Beyond Scared Straight is a documentary reality series that follows at-risk teenagers who are taken to a correctional facility to experience a day in the life of a prisoner. In season 4 episode 15, titled Charlotte County, FL, the focus is on a group of five teens from Florida who have all gotten into trouble with the law.

The episode begins with the teens being interviewed by a group of corrections officers who explain the rules and regulations of the facility. The teens appear nervous and apprehensive, but as they are taken through the different areas of the prison, their demeanor starts to become more defiant.

Their first stop is the intake area where they are met by a group of inmates who are in the process of being booked into the facility. The inmates start to shout and taunt the teens, trying to intimidate them, but the teens refuse to back down.

The next stop is the cell block where they are shown the cramped and dingy cells that the inmates have to live in. The teens are clearly uncomfortable and disgusted by the conditions. They are then taken to meet some of the more dangerous inmates who are currently serving time in the prison.

These inmates start to share their life stories with the teens, explaining how they ended up in prison and the mistakes they made along the way. Some of the stories are quite shocking and really hit home with the teens, making them realize that the path they are on can have serious consequences.

The teens are then presented with a choice - either continue on the path they are on and risk ending up in a place like this or change their behavior and try to turn their lives around. The consequences of their decision are not sugar-coated and the inmates make it very clear that the choices they make from this point on could determine the rest of their lives.

Finally, the teens are taken to meet their parents who have been waiting for them in another part of the facility. The parents are visibly emotional and some of them are in tears as they express their disappointment and concern for their children.

In the end, the teens are given a chance to reflect on the experience and some of them admit that it was a wake-up call. It remains to be seen whether or not the experience will have a long-term impact on their behavior, but for now, it seems that they have a newfound appreciation for the consequences of their actions.
