Ep 1. Leg 1: Storms and Stuffies

In the first episode of Big Crazy Family Adventure season 1, titled "Leg 1: Storms and Stuffies," we are introduced to the adventurous family of six. Parents Bruce and Christine, along with their four kids, Bodi, Taj, Holii, and Esme, embark on a journey of a lifetime - a 100-day trip to travel from Vancouver, Canada to the southern tip of Argentina.

Their journey begins with a stormy ferry ride across the Alaskan Gulf in the middle of the night. The waves rock the ferry back and forth, making it impossible for the family to sleep. Despite the tumultuous ride, the kids excitedly search for sea animals out of the ferry's windows.

Once they arrive in Alaska, they make their way to a cozy cabin they rented for the night. The family initiates a tradition they will continue throughout their journey; they take turns choosing a stuffed animal to bring with them on their travels. The chosen stuffed animal becomes a companion to the person they picked it for, with the hope that it would alleviate their homesickness.

The next day, they start their journey in a rented RV, driving through winding roads and rough terrains. In their first pit stop, they decide to rent kayaks and take in the beauty of Kenai Fjords National Park. The family braces themselves for cold winds and choppy waters, but they are all thrilled to see the stunning glaciers and aquatic wildlife, including otters, seals, and even humpback whales.

After kayaking, they switch gears by hiking a nearby trail and encountering spectacular views of the fjords. Along the way, the family has fun amusing themselves with puns and jokes. At the end of the trail, the family has a touching moment where they share how grateful they are for the opportunity to travel together and experience such wonders.

On their trek back to their RV, they see a mother black bear with two cubs in the bay. They watch from a safe distance, enjoying the rare sight. Eventually, they arrive at their stopping point for the night, and the children excitedly set up their sleeping bags outside of the RV to stargaze.

Throughout the episode, we see the familial bond between the family members and their eagerness to learn, explore, and bond through the journey. We are also shown how they tackle practical challenges, such as cooking together and managing the limited space of the RV, with humor and creativity.

The episode concludes with the family gathered around a campfire, reflecting on their adventure so far, and excitedly wondering about all the adventures ahead of them. Overall, "Leg 1: Storms and Stuffies" offers a glimpse into the epic trip that the adventurous family takes, filled with stunning views, wildlife encounters, and heartwarming moments.
