Detective Harry Bosch is on the case again in the sixth episode of season one of the crime drama show Bosch. In this episode, titled "Donkey's Years," Bosch investigates the death of a homeless veteran who was discovered under the Santa Monica Pier.

The episode opens with Bosch preparing to go to court to testify in a case involving a serial killer he had captured several years prior. In court, he is grilled about his past actions and is accused of mishandling evidence, which he vehemently denies. Meanwhile, the case he is currently investigating takes a turn when the victim's identity is revealed: Patrick, a homeless veteran with a criminal past.

Bosch and his partner, Jerry Edgar, begin to comb through Patrick's history and track down those who knew him. As they delve deeper, they discover that Patrick was a key witness in a case involving a gang member who had been terrorizing the homeless population. The detectives believe that this could be a motive for Patrick's murder.

As they conduct their investigation, Bosch receives a call from his ex-wife, who is distraught over a photograph of their daughter that was taken without her consent. He rushes to her home to comfort her and confront the paparazzo who took the photo. This storyline adds a personal touch to the episode, shedding light on Bosch's troubled past as a father and his ongoing struggle to maintain a relationship with his daughter.

Meanwhile, Bosch and Edgar find a lead in the case when they discover that Patrick had been seen arguing with a mysterious man the night before his death. They follow this lead to a local club, where they learn that the man in question is named Marlon West. They manage to track him down, but he claims that he had nothing to do with Patrick's murder.

Despite his denial, Bosch and Edgar continue to investigate West, suspecting that he is connected to the gang that had been preying on the homeless population. As they work to piece together the evidence, they encounter obstacles and setbacks, including a dead end with a witness they had been counting on.

Bosch and Edgar are ultimately able to gather enough evidence to make an arrest, but not before encountering a dramatic twist that puts everyone's lives in danger. As always, this episode of Bosch is packed with tension, intrigue, and plenty of plot twists to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The acting is superb, with Titus Welliver turning in another outstanding performance as Harry Bosch, and the narrative is well-crafted, weaving together multiple storylines for a cohesive and compelling episode.

As the season progresses, Bosch's past and present collide, revealing more about his complicated character and the many demons that he is battling. "Donkey's Years" is a standout episode that showcases the show's strengths, including the wit, intelligence, and moral complexity that have made it a hit with audiences and critics alike.
