Detective Harry Bosch returns in the fifth season of the thrilling police procedural drama series Bosch on Amazon Prime. In the extreme city of Los Angeles, Bosch is up against the clock to solve complicated criminal cases while balancing his consequential personal life with his detective work. He faces many challenges set on him by his determination to expose corruption, deceit, and crime that stretches deep within the roots of the city.

In this fifth episode of the fifth season, Bosch gets called into a case that he has been pursuing for years. The episode, aptly titled Tunnel Vision, sees Bosch trying to unravel the truth about the high-profile Deborah Aguilar murder case. Aguilar was a sixteen-year-old girl whose body was found in a storm drain in 2009. For over a decade, the case seemed to be closed- police found a match for a suspect's DNA, and the suspect has confessed to the crime. However, Bosch has always had his doubts about the suspect's confession, and these doubts resurface in this episode when he comes across a vital piece of information.

Bosch's partner, Detective Jerry Edgar is skeptical about reopening the Aguilar case, as it's a potential career suicide. Reopening the case would take a lot of work and investigative resources, and it might just end in failure. However, Bosch cannot rest easy, knowing that justice was not served for the teen girl who lost her life. He returns to his office and tries to put together bits of information that he previously missed. While going over the files once more, he comes across something significant that he thinks was overlooked by police initially. He remembers a witness who saw a van near the storm drain where the body was found.

Bosch heads out of the office and tracks down the witness, who is now homeless. The witness does not give him much information because of their dire condition, but he confirms that he saw a van pass by the storm drain where the body of Deborah Aguilar was found. He could not give a clear description of the vehicle as it was dark and difficult to see. Nevertheless, Bosch takes the information and heads back to the station.

Upon returning to the station, Bosch and Edgar now have to try and identify the vehicle in question. They go through archives of surveillance video cameras that were installed around the area where the murder was committed. The video footage is difficult to distinguish because of poor lighting, and the shots are either too far or too blurry. However, they eventually pinpoint a vehicle that might be the same van that the witness saw that fateful day.

The van is now identified as belonging to a group of contractors who worked in the area around the time of Aguilar's death. Bosch and Edgar try to contact the contractors, but the phone numbers that they find from their records turn out to be disconnected. This leads them to believe that the contractors have gone out of business, but Bosch follows his hunch and stakes out the van while it's parked at their office yard. From across the street, Bosch observes the van and the people moving around it.

As the episode progresses, Bosch and Edgar get closer to cracking the case wide open and discovering the truth about the Aguilar case. The suspenseful scenes and the tension that the episode builds are sure to keep fans engaged and on the edge of their seats.

In conclusion, episode five of Bosch's season five is a captivating episode that delves deep into the mind of Detective Harry Bosch. With his signature grit and determination, Bosch pushes further in his quest for justice. The episode exhibits the core of the series, highlighting how Bosch's dogged determination and his pursuit of justice separate him from other officers and sets him apart as a detective who never gives up.
