Case Histories is a television series based on a series of much admired novels by Kate Atkinson. The lead character is a private investigator Jackson Brodie, played by Jason Isaacs which some eagle-eyed viewers might remember from the Harry Potter movies or the movie The Patriot. Those who have listened to the audio books for the novel series might recognize his voice since he narrated the abridged audio books. Jackson Brodie is a former soldier and police officer with a tough exterior and a heart of gold. Brodie is haunted by a tragedy in his past involving his family and struggles to balance his work life and home life while assisting the bereaved, the lost, and dysfunctional in Edinburgh, a city in Scotland. Brodie is a former soldier in the British army and officer in the Lothian and Borders Police department, turned PI, private investigator. Brodie is driven by the need to bring peace to the victims and their families, no matter who these victims or families might be.
