Corner Gas season 6 episode 12, titled "Super Sensitive," revolves around a case of hypersensitivity that hits Dog River. The episode was initially aired on March 10, 2009, and was written by Kevin White.

Brent's hypochondriac tendencies get a new twist when he starts to feel hypersensitive to everything around him. He can't stand the sound of Oscar's chewing or even the feel of Emma's cooking. Initially, everyone thinks it's just another episode of Brent's hypochondria, but they soon realize that something is genuinely amiss.

As Brent's behavior becomes more erratic, Lacey does some research and finds out about a rare condition that causes hypersensitivity. The syndrome is usually triggered by traumatic incidents, and the only cure is to find the root of the problem.

While Emma tries to cater to Brent's dietary restrictions, Hank gets a brilliant idea to paint the restaurant with a "Low Sensitivity Zone" where everything is tailored to Brent's needs. Karen thinks that they're catering too much to Brent's whims, but Davis blurts out that everyone caters to everyone's whims all the time, so what's the big deal?

Brent's condition takes a turn for the worse when he can't even tolerate the feel of his own clothing. Oscar tries to cheer him up by taking him fishing, but Brent can't stand the hum of the boat engine or the smell of the lake. Finally, they realize that Brent's problem stems from an incident in his childhood related to his father.

Oscar, who had been dreading bringing up the subject, finally takes Brent to task for treating him like dirt all the time. He lets Brent know that he was actually trying to protect him by toughening him up and gives Brent the love and validation he has been yearning for all his life.

As Brent starts to come out of his shell, he realizes how much the condition had been taking away from his life. He starts to appreciate the sounds, smells, and sensations that he had taken for granted. In the end, he rediscovers his sense of adventure and thrill for life.

The episode closes with the gang sitting together at The Ruby, reminiscing about old times and sharing drinks in the glow of the "Low Sensitivity Zone."

"Super Sensitive" is an episode that shows how much we can miss by taking our senses for granted. It also highlights the importance of confronting traumatic incidents and seeking validation from loved ones. The episode is a fitting tribute to the characters of Corner Gas, who always find a way to overcome life's challenges with humor and grace.
