In the latest episode of Corner Gas season 6, entitled "Meat Wave," the residents of Dog River are hit with an unexpected heat wave, causing them to seek out ways to stay cool.
Brent, the owner of the town's only gas station, decides to bring in a slushie machine to help beat the heat. Meanwhile, Lacey, the owner of the town's diner, tries to lure in customers by expanding her menu to include ice cream treats.
As the temperature continues to rise, Hank, Brent's unemployed best friend, turns to his old standby: breaking out the lawn sprinkler and running through it. However, when Hank's actions accidentally cause a water outage in town, it's up to Brent and his crew to fix the problem.
Meanwhile, Emma, Brent's mother, decides to beat the heat by turning her air conditioning up to the max and bundling up in a winter coat. This leads to some amusing exchanges with the other residents of Dog River, who can't understand why Emma would want to be so cold when it's so hot outside.
As the day wears on and the heat shows no signs of letting up, the residents of Dog River start to get a little stir-crazy. Oscar, the town's curmudgeonly old timer, even starts seeing visions of his deceased dog. But in the end, the town comes together to beat the heat, in their own quirky and endearing ways.
Overall, "Meat Wave" is a fun and lighthearted episode of Corner Gas that showcases the show's signature humor and heart. With its relatable storyline and charming characters, it's sure to be a hit with fans of the long-running Canadian sitcom.
