Ep 5. Two to Tangle

In this episode of Deadly Women season 11 titled "Two to Tangle," viewers get an in-depth look at three cases of women who committed heinous crimes. While all are vastly different, they all involve women and their romantic relationships.

The first case involves a woman named Dalia Dippolito who hires a hitman to kill her husband. The hitman, however, turned out to be an undercover police officer and she was arrested shortly after. This case gained national attention due to the fact that the entire crime was caught on tape. The prosecution argued that Dippolito was unhappy in her marriage and wanted out so she concocted the plan. However, her defense argued that it was all a set up for a reality TV show and that she was tricked into making the video. Ultimately, the jury was divided and it took three trials to reach a verdict.

The second case focuses on a woman named Sheila LaBarre who preyed on vulnerable men with mental health issues. She would lure them to her farm in New Hampshire where she would carry out sadistic acts, eventually leading to murder. She was known for being extremely manipulative and controlling, and her victims were often isolated from their families and friends. In 2008, LaBarre was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and is currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The third and final case involves a woman named Terri Lynn Hollis who was in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, John Valerio. In 1986, Valerio was found beaten to death in their home and Hollis was arrested for the crime. Hollis claimed self-defense, saying that she was protecting herself from Valerio's abuse. The prosecution, however, argued that her story didn't add up and that the evidence supported a deliberate killing. After two trials, Hollis was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Throughout the episode, viewers are given insight into the motivations and psychological push behind each of these women's crimes. From a desire for control to escape from abusive relationships, the reasons behind these women's actions are complex and varied.
