DI Jack Mooney and the team are back to investigate crime on the sun-soaked island of Saint Marie - including the mysterious death of a skydiver.

In episode 5, the team are called to investigate the apparent suicide of a man in a beachfront villa. The victim, Jeremy Cutting, was a wealthy businessman with a reputation for being ruthless and unpleasant. His wife, son and business partner all have motives for wanting him dead, but as the detectives delve deeper, they uncover a web of secrets and lies that could ultimately lead them to the true killer.

Meanwhile, Jack is still struggling to come to terms with the departure of his predecessor, DI Humphrey Goodman. As he tries to make the island his own, he finds himself clashing with his new boss, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, over their differing methods of investigation. However, when Selwyn's daughter is involved in the case, Jack must put his personal feelings aside and work to bring the killer to justice.

As always, the stunning backdrop of Saint Marie provides a vivid contrast to the dark deeds being uncovered, and the team must navigate the island's unique customs and quirks in order to get to the truth. With suspects galore and twists and turns at every corner, episode 5 of Death in Paradise promises to be a thrilling ride for fans of the show.
