The Big Dance is the second episode of the first season of the Canadian teen drama series, Degrassi Junior High. The episode follows the group of students at Degrassi Junior High as they look forward to a big dance that's coming up. The students are excited about the dance, and everyone hopes to make it a memorable night.

The episode starts with Wheels and Joey talking about the upcoming dance. Both are excited and discussing what they're going to wear. Meanwhile, Stephanie is busy trying to convince Joey to go to the dance with her. Yet, Joey seems to be more interested in asking Caitlin out to the dance.

Meanwhile, Melanie and Kathleen are discussing ways to make sure they look great for the dance. They're busy going over their outfits and are hoping to look their best. At the same time, L.D. tries to convince Caitlin to come to the dance, and Caitlin appears to be interested.

The excitement around the dance continues to build up, and Joey is still trying to find a way to ask Caitlin out. He eventually decides to write a love letter and leave it in her locker. However, when Caitlin receives the letter, she thinks that it's from someone else, and things get awkward.

Meanwhile, L.D. continues to try and persuade Caitlin to come to the dance with her. Caitlin finally agrees, and they both decide to go together. However, when they get to the dance, things don't go according to plan. L.D. finds out that she's the only one without a date, and Caitlin gets upset with Joey for not asking her to the dance.

Melanie, Kathleen, and their friends arrive at the dance, and they all look great. However, Melanie has a hard time finding a partner for the dance. She eventually convinces her classmate named Yick to dance with her.

As the night goes on, Joey finally gets the courage to ask Caitlin to dance, and it looks like things are finally starting to work out for them. However, when Joey makes the same mistake as the love letter, things start to fall apart again. The situation becomes even worse when Joey gets into a fight with another student at the dance.

Despite the drama, the dance ends up being a success, and everyone has a great time. The Big Dance showcases some of the typical teenage struggles that teens face, such as insecurity, love, and jealousy. It's a heartwarming story that shows how the students deal with their problems and come together at the end.
