Known for its southern comfort food, Carla Hall's is cooking up some mouth-watering dishes that are sure to satisfy any hungry diner. Guy samples their signature hot chicken and waffles, along with their famous grits with toppings so good they'll make your head spin.
Next up is a trip to Philadelphia where Guy checks out a classic Italian deli called Paesano's. With huge hoagies stacked high with fresh meats and toppings, this place is a sandwich lover's dream. Guy tries the "Arista" sandwich, piled with roasted pork, broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone cheese, that has every patron of the shop coming back for more.
Heading further west, the show stops in Chicago, home of the famous deep-dish pizza. Guy visits Pequod's Pizza, a place that has been perfecting the art of deep-dish since 1971. In Seattle, Guy gets a taste of Hawaiian cuisine at Kamonegi. This small restaurant is serving up some of the best ramen in the city and their homemade soba noodles are not to be missed. Chef Mutsuko Soma shows Guy how she makes the delicate noodles from scratch and they prepare a delicious bowl of soba with fried duck and a rich broth that will have you booking your next trip to Seattle just to taste it.
The final stop of this episode takes us to Los Angeles where Guy checks out a tiny, unassuming spot in the heart of Little Tokyo. But don't let the size fool you, Marugame Monzo is dishing up world-class udon noodles that are worth waiting in line for. Guy samples a bowl of their famous uni udon, made with creamy sea urchin and a rich broth that's so good you'll want to lick the bowl clean.
