The Dinosaur Train is back with another exciting episode in season 2! In episode 15, titled "Remember the Alamosaurus / Sunrise, Sunset," the Pteranodon family takes a trip back in time to learn about a dinosaur called the Alamosaurus.
In the first half of the episode, "Remember the Alamosaurus," Buddy and his family travel to an area known as the Big Pond to meet up with a dinosaur expert named Mr. Conductor. Mr. Conductor tells the family about a giant, long-necked dinosaur called the Alamosaurus that lived in the same area millions of years ago. The Alamosaurus was one of the biggest dinosaurs in North America, and it was a plant-eater that could weigh up to 70 tons!
While exploring the area around the Big Pond, Buddy and his siblings find some Alamosaurus bones. With Mr. Conductor's help, they learn how to identify different parts of the skeleton and what they can tell us about how the Alamosaurus lived. The family then takes a ride on the Dinosaur Train to visit an Alamosaurus herd and see the massive dinosaurs up close.
In the second half of the episode, "Sunrise, Sunset," Buddy and his family witness a beautiful sunrise and sunset. But what causes these dramatic changes in the sky? To find out, the family takes a ride on the Dinosaur Train to visit a scientist named Dr. Sally.
Dr. Sally explains that the Earth rotates on its axis, which causes the sun to rise and set. She also teaches the family about the different stages of the day and night, and how they affect different animals. The family then takes a nighttime ride on the Dinosaur Train to observe nocturnal creatures and learn more about how they adapt to life in the dark.
