Dr. Chris Pet Vet Season 4 Episode 3 Dig the Pig

  • October 15, 2016

Dr. Chris Pet Vet is an Australian television series that follows the adventures of Dr. Chris Brown, a veterinarian who travels across the country to care for a variety of animals. In season 4 episode 3, titled "Dig the Pig," Dr. Chris is called to a farm in the countryside to help a pig who is suffering from a mysterious illness.

Upon arrival at the farm, Dr. Chris meets the farmer, who explains that the pig has been unable to stand or walk for several days. The pig, who is otherwise healthy and well-fed, appears to be in distress, and the farmer is worried that he may have to put her down if they can't find a solution.

After examining the pig, Dr. Chris is puzzled by her symptoms. She doesn't appear to have any fractures, and her blood work looks normal. Dr. Chris suspects that the pig may have eaten something that is causing her pain and discomfort, but he's not sure what it could be.

To get a closer look at the pig's internal organs, Dr. Chris decides to perform an ultrasound. This requires him to shave a small area of the pig's fur, which proves to be a bit of a challenge. The pig is agitated and unwilling to cooperate, but Dr. Chris manages to calm her down and complete the procedure.

The ultrasound reveals that the pig's kidneys and liver are enlarged, which is a sign of infection. Dr. Chris believes that the pig may have contracted a virus or bacterial infection from something she ate or drank. To confirm his diagnosis, he takes a sample of the pig's blood and sends it off to the lab for testing.

In the meantime, Dr. Chris prescribes antibiotics to help fight the infection and ease the pig's pain and discomfort. He also advises the farmer to keep a close eye on the pig's diet and make sure that she's not eating anything that could be harmful.

Over the next few days, Dr. Chris checks in with the farmer regularly to monitor the pig's progress. To his relief, the pig appears to be improving. She's able to stand and walk again, and her appetite has returned.

When the lab results come back, Dr. Chris is able to confirm his diagnosis. The pig had contracted a bacterial infection from drinking contaminated water. Thanks to Dr. Chris's timely intervention, she's on the road to recovery.

As the episode comes to a close, Dr. Chris reflects on the important role that veterinarians play in keeping animals healthy and happy. Whether they're caring for dogs, cats, horses, or pigs, veterinarians have a vital role to play in ensuring that our animal friends receive the best possible care and treatment.
