Breakout is a reality TV show that features re-enactments of criminals’ attempts at escaping from prison. The show lets viewers see both sides of the spectrum, featuring the stories of the law enforcement officials who were tasked with hunting them down and returning them to their lives behind bars. The show allows the audience inside the heads of the escapees during their methodical planning, the determination they have to break free, and the aftermath of their failed attempts. The stories are documented from some of the highest security prison facilities in the country.
